No need to worry about a 'winter' puppy and housebreaking,
because we litter box train all of our puppies and they are generally quite
reliable with this method when they go home at 9 to 10 weeks!
When spring hits, you can start transitioning them
to also go outside!
If you are wondering why you should buy an Havana Silk Dog puppy
Please read Diane Klumb's explanation.
It says it all and more, that I could possibly say!

All of our breeding dogs are health tested and have a current CERF exam and number,
have OFA of hips and patellas done and are BAER tested.
We also run SA320's (a comprehensive blood test) on our breeding dogs,
so we can be
assured that they have healthy liver and kidney function.
For a list of Havana Silk Dog breeders, with certified dogs, Sadly, there are hundreds and hundreds of Havanese for sale all over the web now selling for very little.
All of our breeding dogs also are soaped up (and shown 'naked') and photographed for evaluation,
As my friend always likes to say, "Pay the Breeder once, or pay the Vet forever."
Unfortunately truer words were never spoken.
Please do your homework on the breed itself AND the parents and the home your puppy will come from
before buying a puppy of any breed.
visit the HSDAA website.
to see what's under that coat, not only as puppies but as adults also, as things can change!
The soaping is not only to make sure we are not breeding any crooked fronts (see our pages on CD,
but to also see our dogs 'naked' so we can better evaluate their angles and conformation.
We strive to breed only the best Silk Dogs we can and
have given ourselves very high standards from which to work from.
While we love to see our nicest pups in the show ring, good show homes are far and few between
so many of our pet pups are what we consider show quality but in a loving pet home.
We believe pets should be beautiful and correct too!
We don't put just any pup out in the show world, just because 'they can finish,"
as nearly any dog can just finish (meaning gains a championship title).
It is not about the numbers of champions for us here at ERAS,
but about quality in our dogs, both show dogs and pet dogs.
If you're interested in a puppy from us in the future,
email (below) for our information email and puppy application/questionnaire
so you can begin the process of becoming approved to obtain one of our happy beautiful pups.
Older Retired Show/breeding Dogs
While none of them have been raised with small children
we feel that any of our dogs would do great
with a family with children who are used to dogs
or are at least 8 or 9 yrs old and know how to respect a dog.
It's very difficult for us to rehome any of our dogs,
as they have been part of our family and loved so much
but it is also sometimes necessary to consider it, since we are breeders.
If you might be interested in being considered for one of our special dogs
please email me to see if we have anyone available.
thank you
