ERAS 3rd Annual Puppy Picnic!

On Sunday, Oct. 2nd, and with another picture perfect picnic day,
Steve and I hosted our 3rd annual ERAS Puppy Picnic
at the Kankakee River State Park.
It was our biggest turn out yet,
as our puppy family continues to grow!

Once again, the four-legged picnic-ers had just as much fun as our two legged ones! It never ceases to amaze me, how Havanese truly just bloom where they are planted and enjoy themselves wherever they are.

There was a lot of great food, prizes and fun for everyone. I know many of you traveled quite a distance to attend, and I cannot thank you enough. It meant so much to Steve and I to have each and everyone of you there! Thank you all for making the effort to attend and I sincerely hope you had as much fun as Steve and I did! (Oh and Molly!! I don't know if anyone had more fun than her! She ran to greet so many of you, with her leash dragging behind, and was still excited about the day, hours after we got home. ha! She's such a social butterfly and had the time of her life Sunday!)

Once again, (you guys are too much!) Steve and I were presented with a beautiful keepsake gift from many of you. Last year, the adorable homemade Christmas ornaments were such a wonderful surprise. And the year before, the beautiful ceramic plate!! I just didn't think those gifts could ever be topped! But this year, Nancy Thompson, (my dear friend and sister of my heart) organized a beautiful, memorable puppy scrapbook!! Many of you made your own page and many of them Nancy put together for you. Each and every page was unique and heartfelt and GORGEOUS! I was just blown away and truly overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and hard work that went into this. There was truly such love generated from each page! I was so shocked and touched by this gift; you guys have no idea. I do a little scrapbooking myself, so I know the work that goes into each page. Nancy, who knows me better than most, knew this would be the perfect gift for me, and she was right!

I think I was too too overwhelmed by it to really look at it right then and there (plus I hate being the center of attention...grin!) but when I got home, later that evening, and many many days since... I've not been able to put it down. Many of the pages brought tears to my eyes. Some pages made us laugh. But each and every page is truly a page of love and I cannot thank you all enough! Steve loved it too (didn't mean to exclude him! LOL) We both will treasure it forever and want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Nancy! You are a treasure of a friend, and I will never forget how much of yourself you pour into these projects each year for us. Thank you everyone, from the bottom of our hearts!

And now, I'd like to share with you, some of the great pages of this wonderful ERAS Puppy Scrapbook!

I apologize for these pictures,
as the quality of them does not do this beautiful book justice.
But I hope you can get the idea of it anyway.
It's truly a treasure!!!
